In the last few days, I have come across several articles that highlight the ongoing work replacement happening due to AI. For instance, IBM's CEO plans to pause hiring humans for back-office jobs as AI is expected to perform them better. Similarly, Chegg's shares dropped by more than 40% after the company admitted that ChatGPT is killing its business. According to the CNBC article, "Chatbots like ChatGPT have been rapidly adopted by companies as a cost-effective way to handle customer service, but they're increasingly being used in other areas such as content creation, sales, and marketing." This trend of AI replacing human labor is not new, and experts predict that we could lose about 25% of our jobs to AI in the next five years, which is a significant number.

The loss of jobs and the transformation of our economy is daunting. Many people are worried about their job security as they see more and more companies implementing AI technology. This has led to concerns about income inequality and the potential for a large segment of the population to be left behind as the economy evolves. While some argue that new jobs will be created as a result of AI, there is no guarantee that these jobs will be accessible to everyone or that they will provide the same level of financial stability and benefits as the jobs being lost.

It is important to consider the potential risks and take proactive measures to ensure that the development and use of AI do not come at the expense of human values and dignity. The ethical considerations of AI must be prioritized to ensure that its development and use serve the best interests of humanity as a whole.

• Losing Identity:

However, what worries me more is the possibility of losing our identity in the real world. Consider these two claims by experts in the industry:

• "This year, all content-based verification could break, and none of the institutions seem to have thought about it"

• "In 2024, the last election might happen, not because AI would run for presidency, but because of the verification of our identity."

The collapse of institutions due to the inability to verify anything in the system could lead to the collapse of society. This could be the end of humanity, and it seems like it could happen sooner than we expect.

One of the most alarming things about this complex machine is that it has created a different reality, which is more real than what we know as fake news or fake faces. and this reality could have the key to all the locks we have in our world on the internet. Before long, we might not be able to validate anything or anyone through the internet.

The potential consequences of AI are significant, and we must prioritize ethical considerations to ensure its development and use serve humanity's best interests.

After publishing my first article about Technology and AI and receiving feedback from friends, I realized that there is a widespread fear of this new technology despite its presence in our daily lives for several years. Social media was our first introduction to AI, and it has already caused numerous issues that experts have struggled to resolve. As I researched this topic further, I came across the term "persuasive technology," which could be a major issue in social media and other areas, especially as AI continues to advance.

The Influence of AI on Consumer Behavior:

In today's world, businesses need to generate money for their shareholders, and this is the primary value of their organization. Even if they talk about environmental sustainability, human rights, or social stability, generating profits is the top priority in their hierarchy of values. In social media, competition among platforms is to gain more customers and use their money and time to generate more income. This pursuit to keep customers engaged can take many forms that are rooted in the weaknesses of human nature.

One of the most concerning developments in this area is the use of "persuasive technology." This refers to the use of technology to influence consumer behavior and choices. Businesses are using AI to analyze user data and tailor their marketing strategies to each individual consumer. This is done in the hopes of keeping customers engaged and encouraging them to spend more money on their products or services.

This leads me to the main part of the article. If AI developers and institutions fail to take appropriate action, what would be the first disaster that humanity would face? Would it be losing our jobs or losing our identities?

Despite the potential risks, I remain optimistic that humanity will find a way to overcome these challenges and use technology to its advantage, creating a better future for all. However, this requires each individual to be aware of what is going on and take responsibility for the role they play in shaping the future.
